MEDLINEplus - A service of the National Library of Medicine, MEDLINEplus is a leading source of topical online health information.  MEDLINEplus currently provides authoritative content on more than 570 disease, condition and wellness topics that span more than 30 categories.

Diseases & Conditions by Type - this section provides links to a variety of online resources focused on particular diseases and conditions. 

Federal Resources - besides MEDLINEplus, the federal government makes available extensive online resources through a variety of federal agencies and institutes involved in health care research, policy and finance.  Health Guide USA provides a gateway to more than 40 other federal agencies and institutes focused on health care matters, all of whom offer an array of information on diseases, conditions, services, policies and more.

Advocacy Organizations - typically providing extensive coverage to particular disease, condition or wellness topics, advocacy organizations can be a rich source of online health information.  Links to over 150 prominent advocacy organizations, encompassing more than 20 disease/condition categories, can be found in this section.

State Medicaid Agencies - features of the Medicaid program vary from state to state as each state is required to administer the program within its boundaries subject to general guidelines established by the federal government.  We provides links to the primary Medicaid agencies in all 50 states plus the District of Columbia.

State Health Departments - Health Guide USA includes links to the primary health departments of each of the 50 states plus the District of Columbia.  These government sites are the chief source of information about state sponsored health programs and services and typically are good sources of general health information too.

State Environmental Health Departments - focused on environmental health and regulations at the state level, these agencies typically function in conjunction with State Health Departments to promote the public health.

State Dental Associations - primarily oriented toward advocating the interests of the dental profession, state dental association websites often include dental and oral health information resources for consumers.

State Hospital Associations - this Health Guide USA section features links to hospital associations in each of the 50 states plus the District of Columbia.  Although these associations focus primarily on the advocacy of hospital and health system interests, some hospital association websites contain information for the general public.

Primary Care Associations - comprised of organizations that focus on making primary and preventative health care more accessible to all segments of the population, primary care association websites provide content about their programs and initiatives and, in some cases, more general consumer health information.

Public Health Associations - mainly devoted to advocacy of public health issues, public health association websites generally focus on providing information about pertinent programs and initiatives.
